Doggy Style is a Professional & Caring Dog Grooming Service run by Helen McCarthy & Michelle Duncan.
Our deep love of dogs started our journey into Professional Dog Grooming.
We are both London OCN Trained & Emergency Pets First Aid trained.
We have a lovely Dog Grooming Salon based in Sompting & a Luxury Dog Grooming Van that has been converted to a high specification by Wet Pets Conversions.
Our van is fitted with a large Hydro Bath & a variety of equipment for all your Dog Grooming needs.

OUR SERVICES
DE -SHED / ZOOM GROOM
We provide Full De-Shed Grooms, with a variety of different de-shedding tools to physically remove your dogs loose undercoat. Dogs hair grows in cycles, shedding is a normal process in the life cycle of each individual hair. All dogs shed some fur to a certain degree, its just a natural process to allow their new coat to come in. however some breeds shed much more than others & this is where we can help with a thorough de-shed groom. No one wants their home, car, clothes or furniture being covered with dog hair.
De-shedding is beneficial for your dog, sometimes without regular de-shed grooms, their skin can become very uncomfortable, itchy & can cause some skin compications.
SCISSOR CUT
At Doggy Style we provide full & partial scissor cutting grooms, so if owners prefer just scissored grooms rather than clippers, just let us know.
Scissor's, Blenders & Chunkers can often give a more natural look to a dogs coat, or they can be used in specific areas, like the legs, head, top knot, face, tail, skirt & body area. Some owners may prefer clipping with their dogs body, but scissoring on their legs, to keep their fur longer & more natural.
Its purely down to owners personal choice with each groom.
FULL GROOM
Our Full Dog Grooms always start with a 7 point Health Check.
We check your dogs - Skin & Coat, Ears, Nose, Eyes, Nails, Teeth, Joint Mobility.
We believe in a great two way communication with all our dogs owners, and we will always address any areas of concern verbally.
Our Grooming service allows you to make sure your pet is well taken care of, even when you’re not around. We offer this for all sizes and breeds. Prices can vary with each dogs groom. Prices are dependent on your dogs size, breed, type of groom, the condition that your dog is in to begin with, their behavior. Any extra factors can obviously take much more time, so we would advise that you contact us, with as much information about your dog as possible, before booking them in for the first time.
With our Full Grooms, all our dogs ears are cleaned, nails checked & trimmed if needed, paw pad fur trimmed, zoom groomed, clipped, cut or Hand Stripped, dependent on Breed & what their owner would like.
We always listen to what style cut, the owner would like, we feel this is so important, so not one standard cut for all. Each dog is given a thorough brush, or de-shed, 2 thorough shampoo's, dried using our blasters, or hand drier's. Each groom can be entirely different for each dog, so we always adapt our grooming techniques based on the dogs personality, age, fears, owners preferences etc.
HAND STRIPPING
We provide a Dog Grooming technique called Hand Stripping.
Many wiry coated dogs are Hand Stripped, especially breeds like Terriers, Schnauzers, Irish Wolf Hounds, Wire -haired Pointers & Dachshunds, Cocker Spaniels.
With Hand Stripping we remove the fur by hand (pulling it out by the root) so a new coat is able to grow in, which is more vibrant & bright, this can be especially important when your dog is in the show ring. This process is often completed twice a year in Spring & Autumn.
Hand Stripping also keeps your dogs coat waterproof, warmer & drier, added protection from the sun, reduction of allergies,
This process might sound painful, but it is dead fur, so this fur comes out very easily. Professional stripping knifes can also be used & banding combs to help with this process. Many owners prefer this type of groom for their dog.
Once a dogs coat has been clipped, it can never be hand Stripped, so this needs to thought out carefully by the dogs owner. It is also a more lengthy process than clipping.

PUPPY PACKAGES
Once your puppy has received all their first vaccinations, we provide puppy packages.
The package allows your puppy 3 grooming sessions. We advise that these sessions should ideally take place every 2-4 weeks, so that your puppy get's familiarized regularly to our grooming environment.
These packages are great, as it gently eases puppies into the grooming world, the sights, smells & sounds of the salon. Owners are welcome to bring treats & toys from home, to help your puppy feel more relaxed.
We like to gain trust with puppies from an early age, and we feel, if we can help them adapt at a younger age, this can prove more beneficial & less stressful for them & their owners later on.
Our salon is a very calming environment, we always allow extra time for puppies. Our sessions are not rushed, and are on a 1:1 basis.
We use play, praises & treats if allowed, to further gain their trust.
By the end of the 3rd session they will be fully introduced to all the equipment that we would be using in adult life, obviously dependent on their breed.
We would not introduce a piece of equipment unnecessarily, if they are never going to use this in the future.
Each puppy receives a 'First Groom Certificate' with a lock of their hair attached. Great two way communication with their owners is always important to us, we will always address any areas of concern.
BEACH WASH
We also provide a Beach Washing service in our large Grooming Van. Please look out for us in the local area, especially at weekends around Goring Gap, Worthing & Lancing Beaches. Our Beach washes are quick & convenient for dog owners, that want to take their dog home all clean & smelling gorgeous. We have several shampoo's & conditioners, to choose from, dependent on your dogs skin. We always give them 2 thorough shampoo,s & a good towel dry.
SOMPTING BASED SALON
Doggy Style HQ is based in Sompting. We have a lovely home based salon located in Malthouse Close, which is fully equipped with a small reception desk, Mirrored Electric & Hydraulic Grooming Tables, a large Hydrobath, and a variety of grooming equipment & tools for all your dogs needs. We have over 15 different professional shampoo's & conditioners. We only use the best Professional grooming products. We will always enquire about any skin conditions or allergies your dog may have, before their grooming appointment.
DOGGY STYLE MOBILE GROOMING VAN
We have a Large Mobile Dog Grooming Van, which has been converted to a high specification with Wet Pets Conversions.
It is fitted with an electric Ravenstein Dog Grooming Table, a large Hydrobath with shower and a raised platform for smaller dogs. It is fitted with a very large water tank & heating system, large safety door guard (so we can open the van sliding door fully in the warmer months) a hairdryer, led lighting, timed air freshener, radio/bluetooth with speakers & non slip flooring.
Our Mobile Dog Grooming services makes life easier & convenient for our customers, as we can come directly to your door.

What makes Doggy Style so special is how Helen & Michelle actually took the time to get to know Buster for his first groom, so he was comfortable & relaxed. Buster has a tendency to be quite nervous around strangers. He now gets so excited every time he see's them. He also comes back from his groom, so soft, his coat is lovely & he smells gorgeous.
